Founder's Story
"I wanted to leave my daughter something
that would still shine twenty years on."
NOCTYR was born of one father's wish. There was a single reason our founder, Sato, established the company: when his daughter was born, he thought, "When this child grows up, I want to leave her something I can hand over with pride." That something was jewelry.
Yet he struggled to find a maker to whom he could entrust a piece meant to last a lifetime. Even after sitting down with more than twenty designers, there was not one of whom he could truly say, "To this person I would entrust a lifetime, for my daughter."
It was then that he met Joe Watanabe — a rare designer whose work had spanned the Paris stage to the visuals of world-renowned artists. At their very first meeting, Sato knew: "This is the one." When he shared his wish, Watanabe replied —
"Then let us build a brand together that delivers exactly that experience."
From the meeting of these two, NOCTYR began. To place craftsmanship acclaimed the world over, together with a story unlike any other, into the hands of a chosen few. That is our mission.
